Requirements

Veterinary Assisting experience
Possesses a thorough understanding of patient care
Expertise in conducting detailed history-taking for exams
Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, medication, and diagnostics
Effectively communicates the full benefits of recommended dental services
Adept at educating clients on the importance of vaccines and the use of heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives
Strong communication, time management, detail-oriented, and customer service skills
Team player
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening test

Nice To Haves

At least one year of surgical assisting experience
Experience taking X-rays
Experience performing dental prophylaxis
Experience using Shepherd software

Responsibilities

Assist with surgeries by preparing patients, placing IVs, and supporting doctors during procedures.
Take X-rays, place catheters, and perform venipuncture.
Engage with clients, answering questions, providing health tips, and educating pet owners on preventative care.
Contribute to front desk operations by scheduling appointments and maintaining health records.
Ensure the clinic remains clean, safe, and welcoming by feeding pets, cleaning enclosures, and taking them for walks.
