About The Position
Kessen Veterinary Clinic is a progressive mixed animal practice in Delphos, Ohio, serving companion animals and horses in surrounding communities. The clinic provides care for dogs, cats, and equine patients through a full-service small animal hospital and a dedicated equine department. Services include preventive care, diagnostics, surgery, sports medicine, reproduction, and ambulatory farm calls. The clinic is seeking an experienced, full-time Veterinary Assistant to join its team. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling horses in clinic and field settings and can contribute to compassionate veterinary care, teamwork, and personalized client service. The role may involve lifting up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Requirements
- Experience as a veterinary assistant, equine veterinary assistant, or in an equine care setting is preferred.
- Comfortable handling and restraining horses safely and confidently in clinic and field settings.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with dogs and cats.
- Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures, medical terminology, and animal husbandry.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
