About The Position
Carolina Ranch Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join its hands-on, collaborative team in Garner, North Carolina. The hospital provides general practice, advanced surgical services, rehabilitation, and integrative care, offering opportunities to develop skills across a range of veterinary services. The Veterinary Assistant works closely with veterinarians and technicians to support patient care throughout visits. This is a full-time opportunity with a schedule that combines opening and closing shifts and includes rotating weekend coverage.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of veterinary assistant experience.
- Experience collecting blood samples and placing IV catheters.
- Knowledge of patient preparation and nursing care.
- Familiarity with anesthesia support and monitoring.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments.
- Assist with diagnostic testing and sample collection.
- Support surgical and dental procedures.
- Monitor patient comfort and recovery.
- Document medical histories and patient information.
- Educate pet owners on wellness advice and treatment plans.
- Maintain treatment areas and medical equipment.
- Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
