About The Position

VCA South Hadley Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and certified Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time position at a 2-doctor, full-service veterinary hospital offering primary care, illness care, surgery, and dentistry. The hospital is open 6 days a week. The role involves directing workflow, cultivating a positive work environment, collaborating with management, assisting in hiring and onboarding, and mentoring technicians. The ideal candidate will be a role model with expertise in veterinary technician skills, working alongside veterinarians and management to ensure efficiency and foster a winning environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Team leadership experience
• Passion for Veterinary Medicine
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities

• Directing workflow on the floor
• Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain our strong hospital culture
• Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
• Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Conduct staff meetings
• Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
• Mentoring technicians within the department
• Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
• Refining and implementing protocols
• Ensure that VCA polices, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff.
