About The Position

WVRC in Waukesha is seeking a Veterinary Technician Supervisor for their Emergency team on 3rd shift. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, including training, mentoring, and supervising technical staff. The supervisor will partner with hospital management to ensure exceptional patient care, efficient operations, and a positive team environment. Requirements

Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, CVT, or RVT) in good standing required
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in emergency, critical care, or specialty medicine
Strong technical skill set including anesthesia, diagnostics, and ICU patient care
Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and compassion.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Fluent English skills (speaking and reading) are required

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred
Fluency in multiple languages is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and support veterinary technicians and assistants within the ER, fostering a positive, engaged, and accountable team culture.
Train and develop staff through ongoing coaching, skill assessments, and structured learning opportunities.
Create and manage team schedules to ensure appropriate staffing and control overtime.
Support overall hospital operations, including case flow, quality of patient care, and client experience, in partnership with hospital leadership.
Assist with performance management, employee relations, and team development.
Facilitate team meetings and continuing education initiatives.
Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards such as OSHA and DEA requirements.
Perform technical tasks such as anesthesia monitoring, phlebotomy, catheter placement, radiographs, and providing advanced care for critical patients.
