About The Position

Emergency Veterinary Technician Supervisor $25.00–$29.00/hour (DOE) – Non-Licensed Veterinary Technician $30.00–$36.00/hour (DOE) – RVT/LVT/CVT Full-time opportunity in Grand Terrace, California Schedule: Five 8-hour shifts | Weekend availability required | Flexibility for evenings, overnights & holidays Take the next step in your emergency veterinary leadership career at Animal Emergency Clinic (AEC). As an Emergency Veterinary Floor Supervisor, you'll lead Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants while coordinating patient flow, supporting emergency veterinarians, and helping ensure efficient, high-quality care in a fast-paced emergency hospital. This hands-on veterinary leadership role is ideal for an experienced Emergency Veterinary Technician, RVT, Veterinary Technician Lead, or Veterinary Supervisor who enjoys mentoring teams, managing complex caseloads, and leading from the floor. Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of Emergency or Specialty veterinary hospital experience.
  • Previous veterinary leadership experience as a Supervisor, Clinical Lead, Technician Lead, Shift Lead, or Manager.
  • Strong emergency veterinary technician skills with the ability to manage multiple urgent and critical patients.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, training, and developing veterinary teams.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to remain calm, decisive, and adaptable in a high-volume Emergency & Critical Care environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on hospital needs.

Nice To Haves

  • California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license preferred.
  • Experience with ezyVet, SmartFlow, staff scheduling, labor planning, or similar veterinary hospital systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily Emergency Department operations, coordinating patient flow, caseloads, and priorities based on medical urgency.
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and clinical support staff.
  • Partner with emergency veterinarians and clinical teams to provide efficient, high-quality patient care.
  • Support employee onboarding, technical training, performance feedback, accountability, and professional development.
  • Create staff schedules based on patient volume, coverage needs, and labor budgets.
  • Resolve client concerns with professionalism, compassion, and effective communication.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to improve workflow, operational efficiency, team communication, and patient care.
  • Ensure hospital protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety standards, and clinical best practices are followed.
  • Provide hands-on emergency veterinary care during high-volume periods and critical cases as needed.
  • Foster a positive team culture centered on communication, collaboration, accountability, and respect.
