About The Position

VCA Whispering Pines Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Supervisor to join their team. This is a full-time position at a 2-doctor, full-service veterinary hospital in Carthage, NC, offering primary care, illness care, surgery, and dentistry. The hospital is equipped with modern exam rooms, a well-stocked pharmacy, an in-hospital surgery suite, an in-house dental suite, digital x-ray (including dental radiographs), ultrasound capabilities, and a closely supervised hospitalization area. The hospital emphasizes education and responsible pet ownership, aiming to exceed client expectations with quality care and a client-centered approach.

Requirements

• Credentialed Veterinary Technician- CVT, LVT, RVT, LVMT (FL CVT Preferred)
• 5+ years of clinical experience
• Team leadership experience
• Passion for Veterinary Medicine
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Candidates must be positive and motivated
• Determination to rise above obstacles
• Work as a team

Responsibilities

• Directing work flow on the floor
• Cultivate an engaging work environment and maintain hospital culture
• Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital
• Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates
• Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
• Conduct staff meetings
• Provide opportunities for staff to gain more firsthand experience
• Mentoring technicians within the department
• Resolve conflicts in a professional and humble manner
• Refining and implementing protocols
• Ensure that VCA policies, guidelines, and recommendations are implemented by all members of the technical staff
