Mother Lode Veterinary Hospital is Hiring a Veterinary Assistant / Technician! We are passionate about providing exceptional care to our patients and clients. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative and compassionate team. Our hospital has a long-standing reputation in the community for affordable, high-quality care while practicing progressive medicine and surgery. We proudly work with several local rescue organizations and provide care for a wide variety of patients, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, and other pocket pets. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of veterinary experience preferred
  • Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician experience welcomed
  • Knowledge of preventative care and vaccine protocols
  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced veterinary environment
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Compassionate approach to client service and patient care
  • Reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and willingness to continue learning and growing

Responsibilities

  • Support veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and procedures
  • Obtain complete patient histories and maintain accurate treatment records
  • Provide compassionate nursing care and patient support
  • Administer vaccines and support preventative care protocols
  • Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  • Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients and team members
  • Collaborate with the veterinary team to support efficient hospital workflow
  • Help create exceptional experiences for patients and the people who love them
