Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Strong working knowledge of small animal medicine
  • Proficiency in veterinary software (AVImark, Cornerstone, or similar)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and restrain patients safely
  • Strong attention to detail and medical math accuracy

Nice To Haves

  • Credentialed Veterinary Technician (LVT, RVT, CVT)
  • Veterinary Assistant certification (CVA)
  • Experience in dentistry, radiology, or surgical monitoring
  • 2 years of veterinary clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and medical procedures
  • Prepare patients for surgery and support anesthesia induction and monitoring
  • Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, and sample collection
  • Conduct in-house laboratory testing (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, cytology)
  • Assist with radiographs and diagnostic imaging
  • Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively
  • Accurately calculate medication dosages and prepare prescriptions
  • Maintain surgical suite sterility and clinic cleanliness
  • Obtain and document thorough medical histories
  • Educate clients on preventive care, vaccines, medications, and post-operative instructions
  • Provide compassionate communication during both routine and difficult visits
  • Support follow-up communication and appointment coordination
  • Maintain detailed and compliant medical records
  • Support inventory management and medication tracking
  • Process transactions and assist with billing as needed
  • Contribute to workflow efficiency and clinic organization
