Requirements

  • Experience and comfort with dog and cat restraint and handling
  • Basic knowledge of small animal medicine (terminology, diagnostics, lab testing)
  • Possesses sound knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and disease processes
  • Demonstrates strong communication and organizational skills
  • Has at least 1 year of experience in a veterinary setting
  • Is calm, focused, and able to multitask in a busy environment
  • Has proficient computer skills and is comfortable with digital radiography
  • Is reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player
  • Embraces Fear Free handling techniques for stress-free patient care
  • Wants to grow professionally and contribute to high-quality patient care

Responsibilities

  • Assist discharge nurses in appointments and discharge preparations
  • Communicate with clients and team members (both verbal and written)
  • Prepare patients for discharge, including removal of IV catheters, fitting e-collars, and assisting with loading pets into vehicles
  • Support general patient care responsibilities including laundry, husbandry, walking dogs, and cage cleaning
  • Perform digital radiographs and assist with diagnostics as needed
  • Stock and organize supplies throughout the hospital
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment that meets the highest standards of care
  • Collaborate with our nursing and support teams across departments
  • Provide compassionate communication and support to clients navigating post-hospital care
  • Stay organized and calm in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and empathy
