About The Position

At Moffett Veterinary Hospital, we provide a wide range of services for dogs and cats, including preventive care, surgery (general and some orthopedics), routine dental cleaning and radiographs, in-house labs, boarding, bathing, grooming, and more. The job duties include maintaining the visual appeal of the hospital reception area, greeting and welcoming clients and patients, answering questions and triaging client concerns, handling calls and emails, scheduling appointments to maximize efficiency, checking clients in and out, and processing payments. Our receptionists must offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need, be comfortable with various medical outcomes, and be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. Potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases exists. Opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development are available.

Requirements

Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience required
Confident in a fast-paced veterinary environment

Responsibilities

Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
Greet and welcome clients and patients
Answer questions and triage client concerns
Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
Check in and check out clients
Process payments
Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to our clients
Be comfortable with various medical outcomes
Withstand unpleasant odors and noises
Handle potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
