About The Position

Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell's Kitchen is hiring part-time and full-time Front Desk Receptionists. This role serves as the first point of contact for veterinary clients, playing a crucial role in setting the tone for their visit. The ideal candidate is a customer service professional who excels in a fast-paced environment, communicates clearly, and is passionate about animal care. Pure Paws Veterinary Care of Hell’s Kitchen, located in the heart of Manhattan, is a full-service, Fear-Free Certified, Cat-Friendly Practice® committed to providing exceptional veterinary medicine. They believe every pet is unique and take a personalized approach, designing customized wellness plans. Their state-of-the-art facility includes advanced diagnostic equipment, such as ultrasound and digital radiography, enabling comprehensive care from routine wellness exams and dental care to surgery and in-house laboratory testing. Under the leadership of Dr. Stephanie Liff, the dedicated team prioritizes preventive care, client education, and creating a calming, stress-free environment for both pets and their families. The clinic is open seven days a week, serving the Hell’s Kitchen community with compassion, expertise, and a commitment to supporting pets through every stage of life.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a veterinary receptionist is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients and their pets, complete the appointment sign-in process, confirm appointment details, and escort clients to exam rooms.
  • Ensure accurate service and product sales accounting, handle payments, process credit/debit cards, and schedule future appointments.
  • Answer client calls for appointments, hospital inquiries, medication refills, and other requests.
  • Make outbound calls for appointment reminders and follow-ups.
  • Understand common vaccination protocols, basic lab tests, common diseases, veterinary terminology, and pet behavior.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization to ensure a positive client experience.
