About The Position

Mayfair Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Receptionist to join their team. The hospital prioritizes quality and affordable veterinary care, with knowledgeable, experienced, and caring staff. They offer a range of services including ultrasound, digital x-rays, a full-surgery suite, and both general and urgent care. The receptionist will be responsible for maintaining the hospital reception area, greeting clients and patients, answering questions, triaging concerns, managing calls and emails, scheduling appointments, and processing check-ins and check-outs. A key aspect of the role involves providing friendly emotional support to clients during difficult times, requiring compassion and discretion. The position requires comfort with various medical outcomes and the ability to withstand unpleasant odors, noises, and potential exposure to bites, scratches, animal waste, and contagious diseases. The company offers opportunities for virtual and hands-on training and continuing development.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-year veterinary experience preferred
  • Compassionate, Calm, Team Player, Multi-Tasker and Strong Communicator
  • Highly organized
  • Possess computer skills
  • Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance your knowledge and skillset
  • Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises
  • May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases
  • Authorization and completion of a satisfactory background check may be required for hiring eligibility

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the visual appeal of the hospital reception area
  • Greet and welcome clients and patients
  • Answer questions and triage client concerns
  • Answer calls or emails and direct to the appropriate party for resolution
  • Schedule appointments to maximize efficiency and daily flow
  • Check in and check out clients
  • Process payments
  • Offer friendly emotional support in a compassionate and discreet manner during times of need to clients
