About The Position

Our Emergency and Critical Care Department is looking for an additional Patient Care Coordinator. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will be the client’s and patient’s advocate! This position plays a vital role in patient care, safety, and client satisfaction. There is a great need to support not only our patients but our clients as well. Often in stressful situations, both the owner and the patient need a supportive hand to ensure communication transfers accurately between the client and the clinical staff. This is a liaison position, filling the gap between the front, the clinical team, and the client. You’ll help by facilitating client/patient flow between the waiting room, exam rooms, CSR staff and clinical staff. You’ll assist with following up “check-in” calls, ensuring no questions are left unanswered and our patients receive the best care possible!

Requirements

  • Unrestricted, current authorization to work in the U.S. and not require future sponsorship for an employment-based green card.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status
  • Maintain open communication with doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times
  • Coordinate patient flow between the ER Department and our other specialties departments
  • Manage Cornerstone hospital census
  • Facilitate & perform discharge appointments
  • Manage visit board and exam rooms; ensure comfortable and timely visits & discharges
  • Check ER doctor message bin and triage messages for doctors; facilitate solutions for clients
  • Call previous day's ER clients for follow-up feedback
