Emergency Veterinary Assistant (part-time)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring a part-time Veterinary Assistant for urgent care and emergency services at Church Ranch Veterinary Center in Westminster. The hospital is a full-service small animal practice with eight DVMs and a support team. It emphasizes current diagnostic, medical, surgical, and preventative care, follows AAHA utilization guidance, and encourages assistants to work at the top of their skill level as clinical leaders with a patient-first mindset. The role focuses on nursing and triage, including critical-patient monitoring, advanced wound care, and management of catheters and feeding tubes. It also includes diagnostic work such as radiography and positioning, in-house laboratory analysis, and sample collection. Responsibilities
- Monitor critical patients and provide nursing and triage care.
- Provide advanced wound care and manage catheters and feeding tubes.
- Perform radiography and patient positioning.
- Conduct in-house laboratory analysis and collect samples.
- Work at the top of the assistant’s skill level while supporting medical excellence and patient-first care.
