About The Position

UrgentVet provides after-hours urgent care for canine and feline patients, bridging the gap between daytime general practice and emergency or overnight care. Its paperless clinics handle common urgent cases such as wound management, ear infections, vomiting and diarrhea, and euthanasia. Clinics use cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house laboratory equipment. The Part-Time Veterinary Assistant helps provide patient care, team leadership, and client service in a fast-paced urgent care clinic. The role requires regular on-site presence to support patient care, respond to time-sensitive needs, collaborate with clinical teams, and maintain the safety and well-being of patients, clients, and staff. Requirements

Prior customer service experience.
Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
Animal handling experience, including patient restraint, sample collection, and monitoring.
Clinical skills including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculation.
Professionalism, dependability, positive communication, and ability to multitask in a hands-on environment.
Strong work ethic and social and organizational skills.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Regular on-site presence is an essential function of the role.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding patient care, team leadership, and client service.
Handle and restrain patients, collect samples, and monitor patients.
Perform clinical tasks including phlebotomy, catheter placement, laboratory analysis, and drug calculations.
Perform facility maintenance and educate clients.
Work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Maintain regular on-site attendance to support patient care and clinic operations.
