VCA Family & Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center is a 24-hour hybrid hospital in Hawai’i seeking a Veterinary Assistant for their GP Surgical/Dental Team. Requirements

2 years’ experience in a veterinary hospital setting
Full-time with flexible availability.
Able to multi-tasking in a busy environment
Able to provide excellent client service
Passionate about patient care
Team oriented
Proficient and/or willing to learn IV catheter placement and venipuncture
Proficient and/or willing to learn Anesthesia monitoring and recover
Proficient and/or willing to learn Set up and assist with procedures
Proficient and/or willing to learn Appointment management: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoice and patient discharge, prepare and dispense prescriptions, and educate clients.
Dependable attendance is required.
Any allergies to animals must be controllable through medication.
Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Must be willing to work long or irregular hours under pressure conditions.
This position requires the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-10 hour day.

Responsibilities

Appointment management: obtain histories, medical record keeping, invoice and patient discharge, prepare and dispense prescriptions, and educate clients.
Set up and assist with procedures.
Anesthesia monitoring and recover.
IV catheter placement and venipuncture.
