Veterinary Assistant ER Overnight

VCA Northwest Veterinary Specialists is adding an experienced Veterinary Assistant to our overnight team. This is a part-time position working Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 10 pm. Requirements
- Experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
- Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends.
- Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to perform basic diagnostic procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in an emergency or specialty veterinary setting.
- Certification or degree in veterinary technology.
- Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
- Low-Stress Handling, Fear Free, or AAFP Cat-Friendly certifications.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing medical care to animals.
- Perform diagnostic procedures, including taking radiographs and collecting laboratory samples.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Monitor animal patients' conditions and report any changes to the veterinary team.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in the veterinary hospital.
- Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners.
- Handle and restrain animals safely and effectively.
- Assist with surgical procedures and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
