About the Role – Veterinary Assistant We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant with some prior assistant experience and a genuine passion for animal care. In this role, you will provide daily care, feeding, and exercise for boarding pets, closely monitoring them for any signs of stress or changes in behavior. You’ll assist our veterinary technicians and veterinarians by maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and surgery areas, and by following proper feeding and sanitation procedures. This role also involves in-person client interaction, so strong communication and customer service skills are key. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is a great culture fit—someone who thrives in a technician-led, collaborative environment and enjoys working closely with a supportive, team-oriented staff.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Must be a bright, friendly, and effective communicator in order to communicate with clients, visitors, veterinarians, and other hospital staff.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and move freely for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift 50 squirming pounds
Must be able to work in a veterinary environment with exposure to infection or contagious diseases
