About The Position

Aspen Grove Veterinary Care is looking for a skilled Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join their busy and rapidly growing small animal practice in Fort Collins, Colorado. They are considering full-time and part-time candidates with a strong foundation in veterinary technical skills, client service, and compassionate patient care. The practice utilizes veterinary nurses to their fullest potential in various tasks such as monitoring anesthesia, drawing blood, running diagnostics, assisting with imaging, and caring for hospitalized patients, offering opportunities for professional growth. Requirements

  • Veterinary assistant experience or current RVT credentials
  • Strong technical and patient-care skills appropriate to their experience and credential level
  • Knowledge of anesthetic monitoring
  • Experience running in-house diagnostics
  • Blood-draw skills
  • Experience assisting with diagnostic imaging
  • Confidence caring for hospitalized patients
  • Strong medical documentation skills
  • Excellent client-service and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and procedures
  • Monitoring anesthesia and supporting surgical procedures
  • Performing blood draws
  • Running in-house diagnostics and laboratory testing
  • Assisting with diagnostic imaging
  • Supporting digital radiography and dental radiography
  • Caring for hospitalized patients
  • Monitoring patients and communicating changes to the medical team
  • Preparing patients and treatment areas for procedures
  • Maintaining accurate and thorough medical notes
  • Supporting efficient patient flow throughout the hospital
  • Communicating professionally and compassionately with clients
  • Providing an outstanding client experience
  • Maintaining clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment areas
  • Collaborating with teammates to provide exceptional patient care
