About The Position
Partner Veterinary is seeking an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join their team in Frederick, MD. Partner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Center (PVESC) is dedicated to creating a supportive and empowering environment for veterinary professionals. They offer tools, resources, training, and administrative support to foster an engaging work culture. The company has a dedicated Learning and Development Department to help assistants achieve professional goals, with support from veterinary technician specialists. Partner Veterinary also provides tuition support for accredited Veterinary Technician programs and mentorship for the VTNE.
Requirements
- Minimum 1-year veterinary assistant experience.
- Knowledge and dedication to high standard patient care practices.
- A curious and motivated energy.
- Interest in collaborating with the teams across the Partner network.
- Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance.
Nice To Haves
- Internal Medicine or specialty experience is preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Emphasize patient & client care, appointments, and ultrasounds.
- Participate in anesthetic procedures.
- Learn and refine specialized skills to care for a chronically ill patient population.
- Build relationships with pet families and the referring community.
- Quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay to ensure the safety of team members and patients.
- Document exams and facilitate discharging appointments (scribe role).
