The Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant joins a collaborative clinical team that values teamwork, leadership, and compassion. The Internal Medicine team works with internists to provide clients with information about patient care, updates, and treatments. Because care in this department often takes place over a longer duration, the role emphasizes building relationships with clients and patients.

Requirements

Prior veterinary experience is required.
Proficiency in calculations, including drug calculations, constant rate infusions, and unit conversions.
Flexibility with work hours and ability to work additional hours when necessary.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous internal medicine experience is desired.

Responsibilities

Set up for ultrasound and radiology procedures.
Set up and assist with endoscopic procedures, including gastrointestinal, nasal, urinary, and airway procedures.
Manage appointments, obtain patient histories, and update patient information.
Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.
Discharge patients and educate clients.
