About The Position

Partner Veterinary is looking for an Internal Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join our Frederick, MD team! Additionally, Partner Veterinary has a dedicated Learning and Development Department, to help assistants achieve your professional goals, supported by two veterinary technician specialists (VTS) Heather Carter and Christine Weaver. Partner Veterinary provides Veterinary Assistants with tuition support to an accredited Veterinary Technician program and mentorship to pass the VTNE. To set you up for success from day 1, We gift you a wellness week of PTO after 90 days in your position. This includes 30-40 hours of extra time off dependent upon your weekly schedule. Partner Veterinary recognizes the demand that is on veterinary team members, and this wellness week allows you to rest and relax with a week off after your initial 90 days. At Partner Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center (PVESC), IMED Veterinary Assistant’s emphasis is on patient & client care, appointments, ultrasounds, and participate in anesthetic procedures. At PVESC, Veterinary Assistants learn and refine specialized skills to care for a chronically ill patient population while building relationships with our pet families and referring community.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year veterinary assistant experience
  • Knowledge and dedication to high standard patient care practices
  • A curious and motivated energy
  • Interest in collaborating with the teams across the Partner network
  • Ability to quickly process, analyze, and react to unplanned and emergent medical situations without delay, so as to ensure the safety of team members and patients
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours with limited breaks
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance

Nice To Haves

  • Internal Medicine or specialty experience is preferred, but not required
