About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and peaceful euthanasia care in Baton Rouge, Merrydale, Monticello, Louisiana, and surrounding metropolitan areas. The privately and family-owned organization emphasizes professional independence, compassionate end-of-life medicine, and support from a team that coordinates appointments, families, and aftercare. Hospice experience is not required; onboarding and support are provided as veterinarians transition into this field. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedules, including self-managed flexible scheduling options with prorated compensation. Four-day positions start at $110,000 annually, and five-day positions offer a $135,000 annual base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities. Benefits vary by position and eligibility. The employer states that it does not use veterinarian non-compete agreements.

Requirements

DVM, VMD, or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.

Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.
