About The Position

Heartstrings Pet Hospice is hiring veterinarians to provide in-home hospice and peaceful euthanasia care in the Tacoma and Renton, Washington metropolitan areas and surrounding communities. The privately and family-owned organization emphasizes compassionate, meaningful medicine, professional independence, and support from a team that coordinates appointments, families, and aftercare. Hospice experience is not required; onboarding and support are provided as veterinarians transition into this field. The role is offered in full-time and part-time arrangements, with 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-day schedule options, including self-managed flex scheduling. Compensation is adjusted for agreed schedules. Four-day positions start at $110,000 annually, and five-day positions offer a $135,000 annual base salary, with additional quarterly performance-based bonus opportunities. Benefits vary by position and eligibility.

Requirements

DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree.
Active North Carolina veterinary license or eligibility.
Valid driver's license.
Compassionate approach and commitment to exceptional end-of-life care.
Availability consistent with the position's schedule, including some weekends.
