Veterinarian, Partner & Equity Owner
About The Position
PriorityPet Urgent Care (PPUC) is seeking an experienced veterinarian to become a hospital partner and equity owner in Morristown, New Jersey. PPUC provides after-hours walk-in care for urgent, non-life-threatening pet medical concerns, with convenient evening and weekend hours. The role combines veterinary practice with leadership and Medical Director responsibilities at a new hospital that the veterinarian will help build from the ground up. The veterinarian will have medical decision-making authority and help select equipment, hire the team, and establish medical protocols. PPUC provides business and operational support through a dedicated organization of more than 140 professionals, including HR, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting, Operations, and Strategic Growth. Ownership is available with no out-of-pocket cash investment. Nationwide ownership opportunities are also available. The position offers a salary range of $120,000 to $220,000, with compensation depending on experience, qualifications, schedule, and compensation structure. The role includes flexible scheduling and no overnight shifts.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Active veterinary state license.
- At least 3 years of veterinarian experience.
- Current DEA license and USDA accreditation, or ability to obtain them upon hire.
- Leadership experience and willingness to manage a team and promote a positive clinic culture.
- Effective communication skills and a commitment to providing high-quality medicine and mentoring other veterinarians.
Responsibilities
- Help establish a new veterinary urgent care hospital, including selecting equipment and shaping medical protocols.
- Hire and lead the hospital team and promote a positive clinic culture.
- Provide urgent care for pets with non-life-threatening medical concerns.
- Exercise medical decision-making authority and deliver high-quality veterinary medicine.
- Mentor other veterinarians and support the development of a high-performing veterinary team.
