About The Position

Dravosburg Veterinary Hospital, a CareVet partner, is seeking a compassionate Veterinarian to join our thriving practice in Dravosburg, Pennsylvania. CareVet is offering a customizable compensation package including a guaranteed base and bonus combination of $200k in your first year, a production bonus plan, clinical support, schedule flexibility, 401k match, access to our vacation plan, and "true" paid time off. The incoming Veterinarian will enjoy practicing medicine in our modern, well-equipped facility, working along a friendly, team-oriented team dedicated to an enjoyable work-life balance. We are committed to practicing high quality, progressive, individualized medical care for our patients, providing the tools to help your patients through industry-leading medical and diagnostic capabilities. Our hospital is open Monday – Friday (no weekends or after hours). Our experienced support staff and Veterinarians create a professional work experience while helping our clients care for their beloved companions. Our team works hard to provide the highest levels of veterinary medical and surgical services for our patients in a supportive and friendly environment. Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required
  • Licensure in the state/s candidate will be working
  • Ability to show compassion to both pets and their owners
  • Outstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasks
  • Ability to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animal
  • Strong fondness and understanding of animals
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of animal behavior
  • Ability to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals

Responsibilities

  • Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problems
  • Treat and dress wounds
  • Perform surgery on animals
  • Test for and vaccinate against diseases
  • Operate medical equipment, such as x-ray machines
  • Advise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatments
  • Prescribe medication
  • Work closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality care
