CityVet is now accepting applications for its Veterinarian Externship Program, offering third- and fourth-year DVM students the opportunity to gain hands-on clinical experience in a veterinarian-led practice environment. This program is designed for students seeking meaningful mentorship, real-world clinical exposure, and insight into practice models centered on autonomy, collaboration, and long-term career growth. CityVet externships provide a structured yet flexible clinical experience in small animal general practice settings, with many locations also offering urgent care exposure. Externs work alongside experienced veterinary teams and receive hands-on exposure that may include small animal general practice medicine and surgery, client communication and case management, collaboration with technicians and support staff, exposure to clinic operations and team leadership, and mentorship from practicing veterinarians. Externships are customizable whenever possible, allowing students to align their experience with individual clinical interests and career goals.
