About The Position

TransCanada Turbines (TCT) is the sole authorized overhaul, repair, and maintenance service provider for both Siemens Energy and General Electric (GE) aeroderivative industrial gas turbines, serving an expanding international client base. TCT is headquartered in Canada and has three field service offices located across the USA and in the UK. TCT is a private company, wholly owned by TC Energy. Reporting to the Project Manager, Projects, the Vendor Coordinator is responsible for all subcontracting of repairs to third party vendors.

Requirements

  • 2 years related experience or a combination of education and experience that allows the individual to adequately perform the role, determined by the Manager or VP, Projects.
  • A willingness and desire to learn the business of TCT.
  • Drive and motivation to multi-task and self-manage in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work with internal and external clients.
  • The ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, and other internal personnel.
  • Acute analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Willing and able to assist with any activity, at any time, as necessary to support the needs of a changing and demanding customer base in the gas turbine repair and overhaul business.

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase order for repair and overhaul of components going to external subcontractors.
  • Expediting work performed by subcontract repair on components to ensure turnaround times meet business and production needs.
  • Ensure updates are entered into Material Resource Planning system in a timely manner and issues are communicated with all stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Work directly with Shipping/Receiving department, ensuring materials are shipped/received in a timely manner and items with receiving issues are processed asap.
  • Ensuring all subcontractor repairs are at the best possible negotiated price & turnaround time and in accordance with any contracts between the third party and TCT.
  • Review vendor performance on a quarterly basis and produce reports detailing turnaround time, price and quality.
  • Participate in implementing subcontract and repair processes and make continuous improvement recommendations for these processes.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers and vendors daily to expedite orders. This includes monitoring expected delivery dates, shipping issues and invoicing/payment issues.
  • Establish and maintain customer and supplier relations.
  • Coordinate the procurement, receipt and delivery of goods including follow up with supplier.
  • Responsible for sourcing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized turbine parts for both General Electric (GE) & Siemens (formerly known as Rolls-Royce) engine lines within the appropriate license commitments for work in process requirements.
  • Assist in the ongoing identification process of surplus materials.
  • Work with Materials Department to ensure that all incoming orders are correct prior to receiving parts.
  • Adhere to strict ethical behavior at all times and immediately report any concerns to management.
  • Work with Finance to expedite payments and correct invoicing and purchase order issues.
  • Increase knowledge of the HSE Policy and Manual and maintain a positive attitude towards the health and safety of myself and my coworkers.
  • Take ownership of HSE issues and demonstrate enthusiasm and support for HSE.
  • Other duties as directed by the Manager or VP, Projects.
