On-Call Vehicle Transporter

About The Position

The Vehicle Transporter moves and cleans vehicles on the lot, safely test drives vehicles after service and before customer release, and drives vehicles to and from various locations. The role also includes maintaining the vehicle lot, checking and fueling vehicles, providing customer service, and following company safety procedures. This is an on-call, part-time position.

Requirements

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B.
Unexpired DOT medical card.
High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of experience driving large trucks or buses.
Must be 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
Flexibility with start and stop times.

Responsibilities

Safely deliver and pick up vehicles at various locations as directed.
Test drive repaired vehicles before they are released to customers.
Maintain a neat and orderly vehicle lot, including moving trucks and buses as directed.
Clean vehicle interiors and exteriors as needed.
Start vehicles daily and report problems or concerns to a manager.
Keep vehicles fueled.
Work with minimal supervision while maintaining high energy.
Provide outstanding customer service.
Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor and appearance.
Follow company safety policies and procedures and protect company assets.
Complete other tasks as assigned.
Occasionally perform light vehicle maintenance, such as replacing windshield wiper blades, repairing or changing tires, and replenishing fluids.
Ensure required forms and stickers are completed or properly displayed when needed.
