About The Position

As a Vehicle Operations Specialist (VOS) for on-road testing, you are the link between cutting-edge AI and the unpredictability of the open road. This isn't simply a "driving job"—it's a technical role that requires the focus of a pilot and the analytical mind of a tester. You will operate vehicles with proprietary technology, providing real-time feedback to engineering teams to ensure the fleet is safe, efficient, and smarter every day.

Requirements

  • A pristine driving history (no major infractions in the last 5+ years).
  • Cannot have more than 1 violation point count.
  • Ability to navigate complex software interfaces and troubleshoot basic hardware/connectivity issues.
  • High "situational awareness"—the ability to remain hyper-focused for long durations in a repetitive environment.
  • Strong written English skills for technical reporting and clear verbal skills for real-time communications.
  • Comfort with a rapidly changing environment; you might be testing a new software build every single day.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License for at least 5 years.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including nights and weekends).
  • Must pass a rigorous background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in fleet operations and/or precision driving.
  • Experience in the AV industry or testing complex hardware/software systems.
  • Knowledge of vehicle dynamics or basic automotive mechanics.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor vehicle software systems while upholding safe operational protocols and full legal compliance.
  • Execute specific test cases (e.g. navigating construction zones, roundabouts, heavy pedestrian traffic, etc.) and document system performance accordingly.
  • Provide concise, high-quality verbal and written feedback on non-ideal vehicle behaviors and edge-case scenarios.
  • Perform pre-and-post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring sensors (LiDAR, Cameras, Radar) are clean and report major, operational concerns accordingly.
  • Work directly with Software and Hardware Engineers to troubleshoot issues identified during your shift(s).

Benefits
