About The Position

Responsible for the preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of vehicles, equipment and vehicle parts using hand tools and power tools. Diagnoses automotive and equipment failures for long-term corrective action that can/may involve investigative and research techniques.

Requirements

High school degree or GED is required.
3+ years vehicle mechanic experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

Technical school is preferred.
ASE Certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

Diagnose automotive failures and provide immediate and long-term corrective action.
Research defective mechanically-controlled items/parts and instructional information to complete the repair process when needed.
Utilize a systematic approach, referring to technical manuals, technical library, and the CCMS system.
Perform repairs or replacement as needed to meet or exceed manufacturer requirements.
Perform preventative maintenance work, such as visual inspections, lubrication, changing fluids, changing filters, changing wiper blades, and adjusting belts.
Change or repair pneumatic tires on equipment.
Requisition parts from the storeroom for materials needed to perform PMs and repairs.
Report all materials used in the performance of repairs on work orders.
Document all labor used in the performance of repairs on work orders.
Perform modifications to vehicles as directed.
Maintain shop cleanliness.
Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
