This position is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) with an 8-hour day shift and no weekends.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
• Valid Driver’s License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver’s license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment

Nice To Haves

• Associate's or Vocational degree in automotive systems technology, or vehicle maintenance and repair or related field
• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year experience with automotive computers, alignment, air conditioners, brakes, engine and transmissions
• 1 year experience with diesel engines
• Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) within 2 years of hire preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, and provides safe operation of all system Fleet Services vehicles, and provides general building maintenance.
• Safe and efficient vehicle operation and repair.
• Diagnoses and repairs vehicle's mechanical problems as they occur.
• Prioritizes all vehicle repairs based on operational needs and length of repair time needed.
• Performs preventative maintenance on vehicles according to maintenance schedule.
• Performs light body work.
• Prepares new vehicles for use.
• Repairs stretchers, stretcher holders, backboards, wheelchairs, wheelchair lifts, portable suction, nitrous unit, portable O2, lights, and sirens.
• Property maintenance.
• Assists with general shop maintenance and grounds keeping.
• Performs basic electrical, plumbing, door lock, and building repair.
• Orders vehicle parts.
• Completes maintenance records and work orders.
• Tracks repair hours, and records parts used.
• Other duties as assigned.
