About The Position

Clean Harbors is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to join its safety-conscious team in Dallas, Texas. The position is responsible for repairs and preventative maintenance of company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment. The mechanic will also move equipment around the yard, assist drivers with vehicle issues, complete inspections and checklists, and help maintain the facility. The role requires compliance with safe work practices and applicable facility permit and DOT requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a team environment.
At least 1 year of experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
At least 1 year of DOT inspection experience.
Must provide own basic tools.
Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, making health and safety the top priority.
Move company equipment safely around the yard as needed.
Assist drivers with outstanding vehicle issues.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, including changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
Complete daily checklists as required.
Ensure equipment is properly parked and secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
Maintain the facility through housekeeping duties.
Perform other duties and tasks assigned by management or required by business needs.
