About The Position

Clean Harbors in North Canton, Ohio, is seeking a Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to repair and perform preventative maintenance on company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment. The role supports safe equipment operation, assists drivers with vehicle issues, performs inspections and routine maintenance, and helps maintain the facility. The position is part of a safety-focused team serving Clean Harbors’ environmental, energy, and industrial services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a team environment.
At least 1 year of prior experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
At least 1 year of DOT inspection experience.
Must provide own basic tools.
Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical test upon hire.

Related mechanical certifications are preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

Comply with health and safety practices, policies, and processes, and act safely at all times.
Move company equipment safely around the yard as needed.
Assist drivers with outstanding vehicle issues.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, including changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
Complete daily checklists as required.
Ensure equipment is parked and secured in compliance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
Perform facility housekeeping duties.
Perform other duties as assigned by management or required by business needs.
