About The Position

Clean Harbors in Weymouth, Massachusetts is hiring a Second Shift Diesel Vehicle Mechanic to repair and perform preventative maintenance on company-owned fleet vehicles and equipment. The role is scheduled from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and includes working safely, supporting drivers with vehicle issues, completing inspections and maintenance, and helping maintain the facility.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work in a team environment.
At least 1 year of prior experience working on heavy-duty trucks and equipment.
At least 1 year of DOT inspection experience.
Must provide own basic tools.
Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical test upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Related mechanical certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Comply with safe work practices, policies, and processes, making health and safety the top priority.
Move company equipment safely around the yard as needed.
Assist drivers in addressing outstanding vehicle issues.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on company vehicles and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance, including changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
Complete daily checklists as required.
Ensure equipment is properly parked and secured in accordance with facility permit and DOT requirements.
Maintain the facility through housekeeping duties.
Perform other duties assigned by management or required by business needs.
