Tejas Equipment RentalSan Benito, TX
Hybrid

About The Position

Tejas Equipment Rentals is hiring an experienced, journey-level Vehicle & Equipment Mechanic II at our San Benito branch. This isn't an entry-level seat - you'll be diagnosing, repairing, and overhauling everything from skid steers, excavators, and aerial lifts to our class 8 trucks, service trucks, and trailers. Gas and diesel, shop and field, engines to hydraulics. We're a family-owned, Texas-based company, and our mechanics are the reason our fleet earns its reputation. If you take pride in fixing it right the first time - and helping the next tech learn how - keep reading.

Requirements

  • Journey-level experience diagnosing, maintaining, and overhauling engines, power transmission systems, and hydraulics on trucks, construction machinery, and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with sound judgment - assignments come in general terms, and you run with them
  • Comfort working in shop and field environments in all weather conditions
  • Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 90 pounds and work in tight or awkward positions
  • Valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Mentoring Others - You're the tech the newer guys come to with the tough diagnosis. You share what you know and make the whole shop better.
  • Growth Oriented - Journey level isn't the finish line. New equipment lines, new diagnostic tools, new certifications - we'll invest in your training if you bring the drive.
  • Get 'Er Done Attitude - A customer with a dead machine doesn't want excuses. You find the problem, fix it right, and get them back on schedule.
  • Team Tejas - The shop, the counter, dispatch, and sales all win together. You work your priorities with the branch team and back each other up.
