About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role provides an exceptional customer experience by managing expectations and communicating throughout AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car process, while striving to meet the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

The specialist responds to customer leads, identifies and engages private vehicle sellers, arranges dealership appraisal appointments, inspects vehicles, and executes the same-day payment process. The role also refers customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to research and make offers on vehicles.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.

Nice To Haves

• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads through AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, internet, and walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties looking to sell their vehicles.
• Set appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s We’ll Buy Your Car same-day payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day, in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-purchase process, striving to deliver the “check within an hour” promise.
