About The Position

The Vehicle Acquisition Specialist acquires additional dealership inventory by purchasing vehicles from customers. The role provides an exceptional customer experience by managing expectations and communicating throughout AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” process, with a focus on delivering the program’s “check within an hour” promise. The position offers flexible hours and hourly pay plus a bonus for each vehicle purchased.

The specialist responds to leads, finds and engages private vehicle sellers, schedules appraisal appointments, evaluates vehicles, and makes purchase offers. The role also works with customers who may prefer to trade in their vehicles by referring them to the sales team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Extremely self-motivated.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Ability to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
• Demonstrated communication, prospecting, and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Ability to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record.
• Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods.

• Sales or customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming leads from AutoNation and third-party websites, by phone, online, and through walk-in traffic.
• Use available resources to identify and engage private parties interested in selling their vehicles.
• Schedule appointments for potential customers to visit the dealership for an appraisal.
• Execute AutoNation’s “We’ll Buy Your Car” same-day payment process.
• Review vehicle condition reports and inspect vehicles onsite.
• Interact with customers throughout the day in person and over the phone.
• Refer customers who prefer to trade in their vehicles to the sales team.
• Manage customer expectations and communicate throughout the vehicle-purchasing process.
• Work toward delivering the program’s “check within an hour” promise.
• Research vehicles and make offers using sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
