About The Position

The Syracuse City School District is seeking a dedicated and diverse team of educators to partner with its Superintendent in moving the district toward its goals. The district serves approximately 19,000 students Pre-K–12 across 35 schools and programs. The district offers 120 different athletic teams for students in grades 7-12, with a coaching staff of certified, dedicated individuals who enjoy working with student athletes. The modified program (grades 7-8) emphasizes skill development, participation, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and the value of hard work, rather than winning. The high school level (freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams) focuses on skill refinement, higher-level competition, academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities

Coach student athletes in grades 7-12.
Develop skills, discipline, enjoyment, competition, and dedication in student athletes.
Prepare student athletes for higher levels of competition.
Stress the development of academics, goal setting, teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship at the high school level.
