About The Position

This position involves supervising and instructing the girls' varsity softball team, which typically consists of 15-20 student-athletes. The coach will conduct regular practices, coach student-athletes positively, and ensure their safety during practices and competitions. Responsibilities include developing practice and training plans for athletes of varying ability levels, supervising and traveling with the team to all contests, and working with the Athletic Director to schedule future contests and order necessary apparel and equipment. The role also includes handling all fundraising projects, approving expenditures from the activity account, and addressing disciplinary issues according to the athletic code of conduct. Collaboration with administration, faculty, parent groups, and athletes for information coordination is also a key function.

Requirements

  • Experience in the designated sport
  • Must meet all coaching requirements as specified by the Board of Education and OHSAA, including acquiring a pupil activity permit and CPR certification

Nice To Haves

  • Prior coaching experience preferred
  • Van certification preferred
