About The Position
Milan High School is seeking a Varsity Girls Wrestling Head Coach for the season starting November 16, 2026. Reporting to the Director of Athletics and the Principal, the Head Coach is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and maintaining a successful wrestling program while teaching fundamental skills, sportsmanship, leadership, and the importance of academics. Salary and hours follow the guidelines outlined in the Teachers Contract. Interested applicants can apply through the district's online portal before November 3, 2026.
Requirements
- Previous wrestling coaching experience.
- Strong working knowledge of wrestling.
- Hold or be able to obtain CPR/AED certification.
- Possess an MHSAA CAP 1 Coaching Credential.
Nice To Haves
- Prior high school or college wrestling playing experience.
Responsibilities
- Establish, monitor, and maintain a successful wrestling program.
- Teach fundamental wrestling skills, sportsmanship, leadership, and the importance of academics.
- Organize practice sessions and matches.
- Establish written team rules and supervise participant conduct.
- Assist with sub-varsity coaching assignments.
- Manage facility setups.
- Ride team buses to and from contests.
- Assist with contest scheduling.
- Organize off-season conditioning programs.
- Coordinate postseason reporting.
- Support booster club activities and banquets.
