About The Position

Middletown Christian Schools is seeking a Varsity Girls' Volleyball Head Coach who embraces the school’s vision, mission, and core values. The school is a ministry of Grace Baptist Church and is a Christ-centered educational institution that teaches from a biblical worldview. The successful candidate should feel called to the ministry of coaching in a Christian school and demonstrate spiritual maturity, including publicly professing faith in Jesus Christ, participating in a local church, pursuing spiritual development through Scripture and prayer, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit, supporting the school’s statement of faith, and abiding by its Lifestyle Statement.

This is a seasonal contracted staff position in the Athletic Department for the 2027–2028 school year. The schedule is Monday through Saturday and is flexible. The position is based at the K-12 Building and reports to the Athletic Director. Employment is contingent on sufficient student enrollment to field a team. Coaches may also be assigned duties beyond those listed and must follow instructions from their supervisor, appointing authority, or designee.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Ohio pupil activity permit; it may be obtained after hire.
• Acceptable BCI and FBI background check.
• Complete knowledge of volleyball.
• Ability to teach the fundamentals, skills, rules, and regulations of the sport.
• Ability to organize, plan, and execute practice sessions.
• Strong leadership in sportsmanship, integrity, and character development.
• Detail-oriented approach.
• Ability and desire to establish rapport with student athletes and their families.
• Familiarity with safety regulations, including Lindsay’s Law.
• Publicly profess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; actively participate as a member in a local church; pursue spiritual development through regular Scripture study and prayer; demonstrate the fruit of the Spirit; support the school’s statement of faith; and agree to abide by the Lifestyle Statement.

Responsibilities

• Issue, maintain, and collect athletic equipment.
• Supervise student athletes.
• Teach the fundamentals, skills, rules, and regulations of volleyball.
• Organize, plan, and conduct practice sessions.
• Travel to games and practices; school transportation will be provided for away games most of the time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, appointing authority, or designee.
