Requirements

  • Must have medical clearance for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations before having direct participant contact.
  • Must have Medical/Wheelchair Van or Bus Driving experience!!
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation.
  • Must pass background check and drug screening.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Valid Driver’s License in state of hire.
  • CDL license within six (6) months of hire required if location utilizes vehicles requiring a CDL license.
  • Have a minimum of one year experience in working with the frail and elderly population.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience driving a van or bus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive a van or bus to transport participants to and from the center, medical appointments, and other activities.
  • Assist participants in boarding and alighting the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operating condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of mileage, passenger counts, and any incidents or issues.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Provide basic assistance to participants as needed during transport.
  • Communicate effectively with participants, center staff, and supervisors.
