About The Position

Care Initiatives is hiring a Van Driver to transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events. The role includes helping residents board and exit the vehicle, securing wheelchairs, observing residents during transport, and communicating concerns to nursing staff and supervisors. The Van Driver also maintains the vehicle, coordinates maintenance, and works with nursing and facility teams. The available shift is PRN-Saturdays.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• Have no more than two traffic violations within the last three years.
• Have no previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• Have CPR and first aid certification or be willing to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle, including fuel, fluids, and basic supplies.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
