Van Driver Part Time The Residence at Salem Woods
About The Position
LCB Senior Living is hiring a part-time Van Driver at The Residence at Salem Woods in Salem, New Hampshire. The role transports residents to and from appointments, group activities, and other destinations in a 7- to 14+-passenger vehicle. The driver helps residents enter and leave the vehicle, assists with baggage as needed, and enforces safety rules while traveling. The position requires Wednesday and Sunday availability, as well as weekday and weekend availability. Candidates must have at least six years of driving experience, according to the posting. The listed salary range is $18.00–$21.00. The Van Driver is expected to promote the Residence’s and LCB Senior Living’s mission and core values, contribute positively to community occupancy efforts, and perform duties with a positive attitude. Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining the vehicle, handling appointment paperwork, assisting with residence activities, attending required orientation and in-services, responding to resident requests, and performing other requested duties.
Requirements
- At least three years of driving experience is listed in the qualifications; the posting also states that candidates must have six or more years of driving experience.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of automobile servicing.
- Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing.
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and completely.
- Valid driver’s license in the community’s state.
- No more than two moving violations in a three-year period on the driving record, as determined by the facility’s insurance broker.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and stretching are required.
- Ability to lift and carry at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull carts and continuously walk, sit, and stand.
- Ability to turn, crouch, kneel, stoop, bend below the waist, and reach above shoulder height as tasks dictate.
- Finger and hand dexterity to handle and manipulate instruments and equipment; visual and auditory acuity; ability to type and use a computer.
- Wednesday and Sunday availability, as well as weekday and weekend availability.

Responsibilities
- Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, coworkers, and the surrounding community.
- Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members, and professionals to help grow community occupancy.
- Perform duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude.
- Operate a 7- to 14+-passenger vehicle.
- Keep vehicles ready for transport, including completing safety checks and ensuring first-aid supplies and updated resident emergency information sheets are available.
- Assist residents with entering and leaving the vehicle and help with baggage as needed.
- Enforce safety rules while traveling.
- Secure necessary paperwork for appointments and deliver it to the appropriate people.
- Transport residents to and from appointments, group activities, and other destinations.
- Service the vehicle with fuel, oil, and necessary fluids, and keep it clean and sanitary.
- Perform emergency repairs as needed.
- Attend required in-services and orientation.
- Respond to resident requests and perform other duties as requested.
- Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing residence activities.
