About The Position

The Stars’ agency substitute van driver safely transports children and youth to and from their homes and Stars’ programs using Stars vehicles. This is a casual, as-needed substitute position covering for regular drivers, potentially on short notice. Routes may be in the morning or afternoon in the Weymouth/Quincy area, with shifts of approximately two hours in the morning and/or two hours in the afternoon. The driver must maintain required licensing, certifications, training, vehicle records, and compliance with applicable Massachusetts regulations and South Shore Stars policies.

Requirements

Must have a current 7D Driving License.
Must be deemed suitable through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education Care Background Record Check process.

Responsibilities

Safely transport children and youth to pre-designated drop-off locations.
Maintain a 7D license and complete annual vehicle inspections as directed by the Center Director or site coordinator.
Comply with Massachusetts RMV and DEEC regulations.
Comply with South Shore Stars confidentiality policies and procedures.
Complete and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
Complete all required Early Education Care online training.
Work with the Center Director or site coordinator to maintain vehicle attendance records.
Report vehicle incidents daily to the Center Director or site coordinator using the vehicle incident log.
Maintain a current 7D Driver’s License.
Complete Stars’ Transportation Agreement.
