About The Position

Care Initiatives is hiring a Van Driver to transport residents from its healthcare communities in Iowa. Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Valid Driver’s License with Class D – Chauffeur Endorsement.
• No more than two traffic violations within the last three years.
• No previous driving while under the influence convictions.
• CPR and first aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport residents to medical appointments, outings, and special events.
• Assist residents with boarding and exiting the van, including wheelchair securement.
• Follow schedules and coordinate timely pick-ups and drop-offs.
• Observe residents during transport and report concerns to nursing staff.
• Complete incident reports and communicate with supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle, including fuel, fluids, and basic supplies.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service needs.
• Communicate daily with nursing and facility teams.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Maintain reliable attendance and work flexible hours, including weekends.
