Full Time Van Delivery Driver
About The Position
Gordon Food Service Store, the retail division of Gordon Food Service, is hiring a Van Delivery Driver at its Murfreesboro, Tennessee store. The driver is responsible for courteous, accurate, and timely product deliveries to Wholesale customers along a variable daily route. The role requires operating the van professionally and safely, with attention to detail and safe work habits. The driver also assists with store operations before or after completing the route. Store responsibilities include processing customer purchases, safeguarding cash, checks, and merchandise, and receiving and merchandising products while maintaining product quality, rotation, and store organization. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter.
Requirements
- Unrestricted standard operator's license.
- Clean driving record, with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last five years.
- At least 18 years old.
- Successfully pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
- Able to use a two-wheel cart with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous delivery driving experience.
- One year of experience in customer service or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Accurately locate and pick orders in-store for Wholesale customers.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships and deliver products accurately and on time.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently through the point of sale.
- Protect cash, checks, and merchandise by following security policies and procedures.
- Receive and merchandise products accurately, ensuring proper rotation and product quality.
- Execute end-cap and planogram requirements and maintain top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom organization.
- Assist with store operations before or after completing the delivery route.
