About The Position

The Van Conversion Welder (TIG) fabricates, assembles, and welds aluminum and stainless-steel components used in commercial van conversions and refrigeration system installations. The role requires precise TIG welding, fabrication skills, the ability to interpret blueprints and welding drawings, and a commitment to quality and safety. The position is full-time in Vernon, California, with a salary range of $32 to $37.

Requirements

At least 1 year of aluminum TIG welding experience.
Welding certification.
Experience welding aluminum, stainless steel, thin-wall sheet metal, and tubing.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding drawings, and fabrication specifications.
Strong fabrication, fitting, layout, cutting, and grinding skills.
Good mechanical aptitude and experience using welding and fabrication equipment.
Must provide basic welding tools.
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work safely indoors and outdoors while wearing required PPE.

Responsibilities

Perform TIG welding and fabricate aluminum and stainless-steel components for commercial van conversions.
Assemble and install components for Thermo King refrigeration systems on vans, trucks, and trailers.
Measure, cut, grind, fit, and weld materials to company specifications.
Fabricate parts using fixtures, templates, and blueprints.
Prepare materials for insulation and refrigeration system installation.
Inspect completed welds for quality, strength, and accuracy.
Safely operate welding and fabrication equipment, follow company safety procedures, and wear required PPE.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Perform other duties as assigned.
